An experimental investigation on the effect of nano-graphene oxide on the maximum peeling force of Al/GFRP laminates

The effect of adding different percentages nano-graphene oxide (NGO) into the epoxy resin on mechanical properties NGO/epoxy and maximum peeling force fiber-metal laminates (FMLs) with composite cores are investigated in this paper. Three NGO including 0.1, 0.35 0.50 weight (wt. %) used to fabricate tensile test samples NGO/epoxy. Hand lay-up method is FML specimens glass fiber reinforced plastic (GFRP) core aluminum faces. Tensile tests examined Young’s modulus ultimate stress determined. It found that after 0.1 wt. % resin, strength decreased by 13.4% from 25.3 21.9 MPa. Moreover, using test, separation between faces Al/GFRP obtained. Based results, when mixed epoxy, increases 16% amounts 4 N/mm. next micro fibers construction core, they have an effective role interlayer adhesion fibrous composites.
